Senate Appointment Published

According to the Canada Gazette, the Senator was summoned "to the Senate of Canada, by letters patent under the Great Seal of Canada bearing date of March 23, 2016" Source: http://www.gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2016/2016-04-09/html/notice-avis-eng.php#nb4

However, the date at the bottom of the notice was April 1, 2016.
